I’m gonna be honest with you... I don't even notice.

How often will you be putting your newsletter out? Have you noticed — it’s one of the first questions asked of you when you’re creating your newsletter account here on Substack.
[Along with some very nudging, suggestive tips that:- It helps your account if you let your subscribers know; that you’ll see greater success and growth if you’re consistent.]
But do you really care? — Are you truly worried about, or waiting for, or setting an alarm in your calendar for MY NEWSLETTER!!!???
⇠⇢ Of course you’re not.
And if I truly thought you were, then I’d be a tad bit egotistical, don’t you think!?
I don’t care (when I subscribe to yours) how often you put out something new. When it does turn up, I’ll be excited (or not).
⇠⇢ And when it doesn’t, I’m gonna be honest with you — I don’t even notice.
But the most pertinent reason on my mind — is that I sure as hell don’t want to read something you’ve popped out just because it’s Sunday, and you’ve gotta hatch some sort of written ‘egg’ for the family breakfast table that sits mostly untouched and quickly going rubbery cold!…
⇠⇢ Cos, heaven forbid… “You’re not gonna be successful if you’re not consistent”!
You don’t want to hear from me if I’m putting something out that I’m not actually moved to express! How boring. How inauthentic.
So what’s my take on consistency to show up in my newsletter or posting on Instagram, you may ask?
⇠⇢ Well… it’s stretchy.
Why do we tie ourselves down with the burden of it? - “I have to show up at this time, on this day, in this week. Even when I don’t feel like it.”
[Not to mention, tying our overthinking, over-self-deprecating brains up in knots when we don’t do it too!]
I’m feeling very content about showing up when that’s my energy, and not showing up when it’s not.
I wonder if you’re feeling this too…
⇠⇢ Maybe we’re being called to lean into it a bit more and play around with some “stretchy consistency”?
Let me know if you have a play with being a bit more stretchy!
